The Washington Wizards have just added some new talent to their roster by bringing forward Jalen McDaniels on board with a 10-day contract. At the same time, they made the decision to part ways with guard Erik Stevenson, letting him go from his own 10-day agreement.
Standing tall at 6-foot-9 and weighing in at 190 pounds, McDaniels is a 27-year-old veteran with six seasons of NBA experience under his belt. Over his career, he’s played in 248 regular-season games, spending time with the Toronto Raptors this season, a stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2023, and a significant run with the Charlotte Hornets from 2019 to 2023. Throughout these games, McDaniels has managed to maintain solid averages, scoring 6.9 points, grabbing 3.3 rebounds, and dishing out 1.2 assists in just over 18 minutes of play per game.
Hailing from Seattle, McDaniels honed his skills during two seasons at San Diego State from 2017 to 2019, before entering the NBA as the 52nd pick in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft.
This season with the Capital City Go-Go, McDaniels has been making quite an impact. In 26 games, all of which he started, he’s been averaging impressive stats with 13.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. He’s achieved three double-doubles and scored in double figures in 17 games, showing consistent performance. Notably, he leads the Go-Go in rebounds per game for those who have played at least 10 games, highlighting his strong contribution to the team.
