So here’s the question we’re all asking: Is this thing between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. the real deal, or is it all just a lotta fuss over nothing? The big fight’s coming up on DAZN PPV. These two seem like they can’t stand each other. Benn is all “I hate what Eubank stands for,” and says Eubank, well, he’s not his type of guy, to put it mildly. Seriously, Benn seems to have some big emotions about it.
Now, Eubank hasn’t exactly thrown around the “hate” word like Benn has, but you can tell these two dudes are about as different as day and night. We’re talking way opposite. Let’s hope once the bell rings and all the punches are thrown, there’s no messy controversy. Benn’s already made up his mind — no handshakes for Eubank post-fight. Like, he plans to knock him out, no chummy vibes after, nope.
So, Benn is apparently waking up with the birds at 5 AM just to avoid the idea of losing to Eubank. He figures he might get beat someday, but it’s definitely not gonna be by this guy. Motivations sky high on both sides, with Eubank also not down for a loss in this one. He’s got a record of 34-3 with 25 KOs, by the way. He’s like, a loss would be a nightmare, can’t let it happen.
And Benn dropped this mysterious hint about wanting to make Eubank hang up his gloves, and says it’s for some secretive “personal reasons.” What’s that about? I have no clue, but sounds like Benn and Eubank have some hidden drama. Or maybe Benn will spill the beans once the fight’s over, assuming he comes out on top. Then again, maybe Eubank pulls off the win and leaves Benn with some serious stuff to think over.
My two cents? Eubank might just snag the victory on points, and Benn might end up with a let-down for himself and his fans. The handshake is a no-go, it seems. But if Benn wins, he’s talking about heading back to 147 pounds and aiming for a world title shot against someone like Mario Barrios. Eubank, if he wins, sounds like he’d be calling out Canelo Alvarez.
And let’s not forget the loser here. Does that mean retirement’s on the table? Possibly. Who knows what goes through a fighter’s mind after a big loss. Anyway, fights like these, they come with loads of twists and turns, right?
