Michael Bisping, the UFC Hall of Famer, is certainly not taking it easy in his retirement. He’s recently taken on a lead role in an intriguing new crime thriller directed by Nika Agiashvili.
Bisping will be starring in “Atlas King” alongside George Finn, known for “Time Lapse.” The film promises to be a “gritty thriller,” produced by Storyman Pictures. There’s a lot of buzz as it’s set to be showcased at the Cannes Market, which coincides with the renowned Cannes Film Festival in France.
The initial scoop on this casting was shared by Deadline.
In “Atlas King,” Bisping steps into the shoes of a “hardened ex-fighter” who returns to town after being away for years. His mission? To bury his best friend and settle some long-standing scores. Reuniting with his godson, played by Finn, who works as a street-level enforcer for a criminal syndicate, the duo plans a daring heist to free themselves from the clutches of a ruthless mob boss.
This isn’t Bisping’s first foray into acting; he’s landed several notable roles, including a part in the upcoming “Red Sonja” film, anticipated to debut in late 2025.
Fans might also recognize him from appearances in the “Twin Peaks” revival, “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage,” as well as in “Den of Thieves” and its sequel, “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new project, Bisping mentioned, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Nika and his team. The script grabbed me from the beginning.”
“Atlas King” is gearing up to commence production this summer, with plans to shoot in downtown Los Angeles.
