However, she made a strong comeback to win the match 1-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Now, Pegula is gearing up to face Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova in the semifinals, with a spot in the final on the line. Alexandrova, the ninth seed, advanced by defeating China’s Qinwen Zheng, the third seed, in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
