The highlight of the Jets’ offseason has undeniably been their acquisition of free agent quarterback Justin Fields. Now, the burning question is: How do they plan to support him on the field?
Currently, when it comes to offensive weapons, the Jets’ cupboard is a bit bare. Yes, they have Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, but beyond these two, the depth chart is filled with players who have yet to prove themselves.
Taking a closer look at the wide receiver position, Wilson stands out as the primary target. However, the rest of the talent pool is up in the air. I’m excluding Allen Lazard from the equation because I have a strong hunch he won’t be a Jet when the season kicks off. My bet is that the Jets are biding their time, anticipating Aaron Rodgers to finalize his contract with another team, at which point they’ll likely explore a trade for Lazard to join him there.
