Deion Sanders seems to be continuously tapping into his extensive NFL network at Colorado, and this time, he’s made waves by extending a scholarship offer to the offspring of a football legend.
Brayden Bailey, who is the son of the Hall of Fame cornerback Champ Bailey, recently took to X to confirm that he has received his first-ever scholarship offer from the Colorado Buffaloes. Brayden, a 2028 recruit, caught the attention of Coach Sanders, as reported by Adam Munsterteiger from 247 Sports.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Brayden plays as a cornerback and is currently showcasing his skills at Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta, Georgia.
It was a special moment when Brayden and his dad, Champ Bailey, visited the Colorado campus last week. During their visit, the senior Bailey had the chance to speak to the team, a moment that was proudly shared by the Buffs’ official X account in a video clip.
Champ Bailey, as many football aficionados would agree, ranks among the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history. His illustrious career spanned 15 seasons, with a significant portion, 10 years to be precise, at the Denver Broncos. Notably, he earned first-team All-Pro honors three times. Interestingly, Champ and Deion were teammates back in 2000 when Sanders had his single season stint with Washington.
Since Deion Sanders took up the helm at Colorado, he hasn’t shied away from enlisting former stars for his coaching roster. It’s only natural that he’d be just as enthusiastic about scouting young talents who have NFL-worthy genetics.
