Ron Rivera, a seasoned NFL coach with nearly 30 years of experience, is embarking on a new and exciting journey. The University of California has announced that Rivera will serve as the general manager for their football program.
Reflecting on his time as a linebacker for Cal between 1980 and 1983, Rivera expresses a renewed enthusiasm for this opportunity to contribute to his alma mater’s football team.
“I’m thrilled to be returning home,” Rivera shared with palpable excitement. “My affection and dedication to Cal have remained unwavering over the years, and I am incredibly eager about the prospects ahead for our football program. Teaming up with Chancellor Lyons, alongside Jim Knowlton, Justin Wilcox, and all our staff and players, as we aim to clinch championships in this fast-evolving college football landscape, is something I truly look forward to.”
