After the Philadelphia 76ers’ disappointing 142-110 defeat against the Chicago Bulls on Monday, Paul George didn’t hold back his criticism. As things stand, the Sixers find themselves with the sixth worst record in the NBA, and with Joel Embiid potentially sidelined for the remainder of the season, concerns are mounting.
George candidly shared his frustrations, saying, “We’ve shown no sign of being a competitive team. We lack the habits you expect from a champion or even a solid playoff contender. Honestly, it feels like our goal is out of reach at the moment. All we can do now is keep our heads down, work hard, and push forward.”
Throughout his first 38 games with the Sixers, George has been putting up an average of 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 32.2 minutes of play. However, his Player Efficiency Rating (PER) has seen a decline, dropping from 19.3 to 14.7 since the 2023-2024 season. It’s a challenging time for the team, and questions are being raised about their direction and future prospects.
