Well, here we go. I’m not one for smooth introductions, but let’s dive into this fight hype, shall we? Oscar De La Hoya’s out there waving the Ryan Garcia banner like it’s his new favorite hobby. Next Friday, we’ll see if Ryan blazes through Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero—or, maybe I should say, if Rolly stands a chance to surprise us all.
Anyway—back to the point—De La Hoya’s got this idea that the year off did wonders for Garcia. Who knows, right? Either way, he sure thinks Ryan is gonna trash Rolly within four rounds. Why four? Not a clue. Maybe it’s just got a nice ring to it. Or maybe Oscar just likes short nights—don’t we all?
The thing with Rolly, though, is he’s out there swinging like he’s trying to hit a piñata at his kid’s birthday party. And yeah, he hits hard sometimes, but swinging at air costs a lot more than candy, if you get me.
Also, side note: I can’t help but recall all those times Rolly’s had it rough against the big guns—like, literally out-punched. Remember Cruz and Davis? Those TKO losses weren’t pretty. I guess he still needs to show up if he wants to win against Garcia.
Oscar doesn’t shy away from dreaming, either. He sees Ryan stepping up to knock Canelo off the throne of U.S. boxing. Imagine that. If Ryan wins big here and continues with people like Haney and ‘Boots’ Ennis, well, we might just see that.
I have to chuckle a bit at De La Hoya—he’s so confident you can almost taste it. “He’s ready to take that throne!” he says, almost like he’s trying out for a motivational speaker gig. Ryan’s got the power, he’s got the speed, he’s got… well, those punches that Oscar says are gonna make this a quick showdown.
Speaking of showdowns, next up, Devin Haney’s got his match. If he beats Jose Ramirez, there’s talk of a rematch with Ryan by October. That last one was a bit of a ride, especially after that whole testing hiccup with Garcia. I swear, just one more twist in this crazy sport’s storyline.
Whew. Hope you’re as ready as I am to see how it all unfolds. Maybe it’ll go quick, or maybe Rolly will flip the script. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
