The Brooklyn Nets have officially inked forward Drew Timme to a multi-year deal, a move that’s turning heads in the NBA community.
Standing tall at 6’10” and weighing 235 pounds, Timme has been a standout performer for the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s NBA G League affiliate. This season, he has made his mark in 29 games, starting in 28 of them, and has put up impressive stats. He’s been averaging 23.9 points per game, which places him eighth in the league, while shooting a solid 57% from the field, an impressive 38.5% from beyond the arc, and a reliable 73.1% from the charity stripe. But that’s not all—his all-around game includes pulling down 10.3 rebounds (ranking fourth in the league), dishing out 4.1 assists, and snagging 1.0 steal in an average of 35.6 minutes per game.
At just 24, Timme is the only player in the NBA G League this season managing to maintain averages of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds across games, amassing 17 double-doubles along the way. Recently crowned the NBA G League Player of the Week, he secured this accolade for his outstanding performances from March 17 to March 23. During that stretch, he boasted averages of 35.7 points while shooting a remarkable 68.4% from the field and 63.6% from three-point land. Adding to this were 12.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, all contributing to Long Island’s solid 2-1 record for the week.
