Inside the Raiders’ organization, Aaron Rodgers has found a staunch supporter. Maxx Crosby, the standout defensive end, expressed on his podcast “The Rush” a desire for the Raiders to bring Rodgers on board for the 2025 season.
Crosby is optimistic that Rodgers can return to peak form in his second season following the devastating Achilles injury he suffered with the Jets in 2023.
“The first year after an Achilles injury is notoriously difficult,” Crosby observed, reflecting on the ordeal on his show. He mentioned how similarly affected Kirk Cousins of the Falcons had a rough season. Although Aaron faced challenges initially, his performance improved as the season progressed.
Crosby continued, “With all the skepticism surrounding Aaron Rodgers—with people suggesting he should retire or predicting he’d be cut by the Jets—I believe he’ll bounce back. Sure, he’s 41, but I expect him to have a stellar season this year, and it would be fantastic if that happens here in our city.”
Previously, there was speculation about Rodgers possibly heading to Los Angeles to join the Rams if they parted ways with quarterback Matthew Stafford. However, that possibility has been ruled out as Stafford has committed to staying with the Rams under a revamped contract.
As Rodgers considers his options, the Giants are emerging as the bookmakers’ favorites, alongside potential suitors like the Steelers, Raiders, and Titans.
Adding to the intrigue, Rodgers and his former Packers and Jets teammate Davante Adams could reunite, offering any team a significant boost to their offensive lineup. Adams spent last season with Las Vegas before he was traded to the Jets.
The Raiders, on the hunt for an experienced quarterback, had shown interest in Stafford. Even at 41, Rodgers represents a considerable upgrade over last year’s options. The Raiders kicked off the season with Gardner Minshew as their quarterback, but after his early injury, Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder took over in what ended as a challenging 4-13 season.
