The Las Vegas Raiders find themselves in a bit of a predicament, with their most pressing issue being the lack of a true starting quarterback. While the offseason quarterback market isn’t exactly brimming with elite options, there are a couple of seasoned players out there who might just offer the Raiders the boost they need.
Maxx Crosby, the Raiders’ impressive defensive end, is convinced that Aaron Rodgers, a future Hall of Famer, would thrive with the team. Crosby believes Rodgers, as he distances himself from the Achilles injury he suffered back in September 2023, could have a fantastic season if he suits up for Las Vegas. In a recent comment shared by Remy LeGoat, Crosby said:
> “The first year off an Achilles is one of the hardest things to do. … I think he’s going to have a big year this year and I hope it’s in our town.”
Rodgers returned from his injury to play through the 2024 season, managing to stay fairly healthy. While his performance wasn’t at his peak, it was far from lackluster. He racked up 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, though his team, the New York Jets, only managed five victories, missing out on the playoffs despite having a solid squad.
The big question is: If Rodgers were to join the Raiders, where the support system isn’t as robust, could he turn back the clock to his glory days, or are we looking at a potential dip in his performance in 2025?
Besides the quarterback conundrum, the Raiders are also on the lookout for dynamic playmakers at both the running back and wide receiver positions, coupled with some much-needed defensive reinforcements. This comes on the heels of their 4-13 record last season. However, there’s a spark of hope with the introduction of an accomplished head coach, Pete Carroll, and an intriguing offensive coordinator, Chip Kelly.
Carroll, known for leading the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory in the 2013 season, and Kelly, who recently orchestrated Ohio State University’s run to a national championship, bring fresh optimism. Raider Nation is hopeful that these seasoned coaches can turn the tide and breathe new life into the team’s future.
