So, you know how LEGO just seems to be everywhere, right? Well, now they’re charging into Formula 1 like a cat chasing a laser pointer. It’s a chaotic, brightly colored clash — and frankly, I’m intrigued. Anyway, on with it.
So, it’s officially a thing now — LEGO and Formula 1 are teaming up to liven up race weekends in 2025. They’ve got this whole plan. I imagine one of those overenthusiastic symposiums with way too much coffee. LEGO already threw some F1-themed stuff at us last year — I kinda remember those sets, maybe — and more are on the horizon, apparently.
Now they’re whipping up LEGO Fan Zones at select races, with all sorts of activities. You can build stuff (and take it home, I guess?), snap photos, and drool over the entire LEGO and F1 lineup. Kind of sounds like a child’s dreamland, if you ask me. Oh, and these LEGO Pit Shop pop-up stores will let you buy the entire shebang. I feel my wallet already trembling.
And here’s a tangent — but, why do pop-up stores remind me of those temporary amusement park rides that freak me out a bit? Anyway, they’ve even got plans for LEGO stores scattered globally in places like the US, Canada, Europe, and a bunch of other places I’m too lazy to list. They’re doing this whole racing theme makeover — not too shabby, actually.
For the stay-at-home types, the online scene isn’t left out. There’s a digital LEGO F1 game coming to their website and app — perfect for those who’d rather tinker with pixels.
Oh, and the higher-ups are all chuffed about this. Emily Prazer from Formula One says it’s a big chance to bring F1 into people’s homes. Sounds a lot like corporate speak, but she’s got a point. Then there’s Federico Begher from LEGO, who’s so pumped you’d think he just had three espressos in a row. He reckons it’ll spark some mad passion for racing.
So, yeah, that’s what’s happening. Might pop down to one of these events myself. Or not. Who knows.
