Joshua Van and Bruno Silva are set to face off again, this time at UFC 316, in an exciting flyweight matchup. Initially, these two were scheduled to battle it out at UFC 313 back on March 8. However, that plan was derailed when Silva had to bow out due to injury. Now, their clash is back on the calendar for June 7, taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The event is still waiting for its headliner to be announced.
Van didn’t let the change in opponent slow him down at UFC 313. Instead, he rose to the challenge and claimed victory over replacement fighter Rei Tsuruya with a unanimous decision. At just 23, this talented Myanmar-born athlete has notched up six wins out of his seven fights in the Octagon. His sole setback was a loss to Charles Johnson back in July 2024.
On the other hand, Silva is itching to get back in the win column after his recent loss. His impressive four-fight winning streak came to an abrupt halt in his last bout, where he succumbed to Manel Kape via third-round TKO at UFC Tampa. Known as “Bulldog,” Silva had been on a roll, finishing all four of his prior UFC opponents before that defeat. Now, fans can eagerly anticipate how these flyweights will clash when they finally meet again in the cage.
