When the news dropped about the Jets’ latest free agent signings, the most common reaction wasn’t exactly surprise or excitement. Instead, it was more along the lines of, “Who are these guys?”
Sure, the deal with Justin Fields grabbed some attention, but Coach Aaron Glenn and the newly appointed General Manager Darren Mougey seem to have focused largely on signing players who might not even ring a bell for the most devoted NFL fans.
This approach gives us a glimpse into their game plan during their first year steering the ship. Rather than shelling out for high-profile, expensive players—a route taken by some of their predecessors—they’re opting for a more conservative strategy.
The idea isn’t without merit. This approach could definitely pay off, especially if they manage to nail their picks in the draft.
