The Jets have decided to pivot from their previous focus on Aaron Rodgers, the four-time MVP quarterback, to steering forward with Glenn at the helm as they navigate this offseason. This major pivot reflects a strategic shift in their approach to free agency, showcasing their faith in Glenn’s coaching prowess to elevate players to the next level.
General Manager Darren Mougey’s approach this time around has been to acquire players brimming with potential, aiming to harness that untapped talent under Glenn’s guidance. The expectation is clear; Glenn and his team are tasked with transforming these prospects into steadfast performers on the field.
Take a look at Justin Fields, for example. The quarterback has shown sparks of brilliance during his time with the Bears and the Steelers. Now, the Jets are optimistic about turning him into their next big success story, akin to what we’ve seen with Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield. Credit for Darnold’s remarkable comeback often goes to Kevin O’Connell; similarly, the offensive minds behind Mayfield’s progress—Dave Canales and Liam Coen—have now climbed the ranks to head coaching positions themselves.
