Oh man, so here’s the thing I came across that was kind of interesting, or maybe not. Depends how you look at it. Anyway, Ja Morant, you know, that guy who does all those insane dunks for the Memphis Grizzlies? Yeah, him. Well, he apparently couldn’t make it to practice on Thursday. Why, you ask? Because his right ankle’s decided to throw a fit. Seriously, sprained it good.
Okay, backtrack for a sec. This whole ankle drama started Tuesday. Warriors were on the other side — a team that never gives anyone an easy time, right? So, third quarter comes around, and bam — Morant gets hurt. But here’s the wild part; he still jumped back into the game. Like, what?
Anyway, so now his ankle’s all swollen up like a balloon and he’s getting treated for it like it’s his full-time job. Round-the-clock stuff. Probably involves lots of frozen peas or whatever they use these days.
Tuomas Iisalo, who sounds like someone with an opinion, mentioned something — and I’m paraphrasing because my brain’s a bit fried today — if there’s even a tiny chance Morant’s body is cool with it, he’s gonna play. So it’s all up in the air till the last minute, the classic game-time call.
I mean, can’t really blame the guy. If you love the game that much, you’d probably run on a half-broken foot too. Or maybe that’s reckless? Not sure. Either way, hopefully, he heals up fast because honestly, the games just aren’t the same without that kind of talent on the court.
