Jean-Claude Van Damme is in legal hot water in Romania, linked to a situation reportedly unfolding in Cannes.
The well-known action actor is accused of engaging in sexual activities with five women who were trafficked and presented as a “gift” by independent festival organizers. These organizers were allegedly collaborating with a Romanian television executive.
This information comes from a report published by Newsweek.
Interestingly, the person who lodged the complaint doesn’t have any direct ties to Van Damme. Her attorney states that she is a victim in a separate case involving child trafficking and prostitution in Romania. This complainant is one among eight women, including the five involved in this case, who were enticed to Southern France under the guise of working as “models.”
Van Damme hasn’t made any public statements regarding these accusations yet.
On a related note, the former kickboxer Andrew Tate recently made headlines due to a sex trafficking allegation in Romania, which has kept the media buzzing. In Van Damme’s case, progress hinges on authorities being able to locate and speak with the alleged victims.
