So here’s the thing, there are like, almost four dozen prospects who’ve already hooked up official visits with VT. And let’s be real, they need it. Desperately need that recruiting mojo back, you know?
Now, if you peek at how these Hokies schedule their official visits—I know, thrilling work, right?—it kinda gives you this roadmap to the future. Like who might actually end up donning that Hokie jersey and who might just be a gleeful mirage.
Oh, and besides our pal Gray, we’ve got this dude Desmond Green from Timberland High in South Cackalacky (yep, did I just go there?). He’s another offensive linesman. Then there’s this edge rusher called Jace McCallum hailing from Harrisburg, North Carolina. And, don’t forget, there’s Carnell Warren, a Bluffton High wide receiver who’s already pledged his soul to the Hokies. They’re all storming VT campus this weekend.
Not gonna lie, this flirtation game with the uncommitted players? It’s a minefield. Getting someone to put pen to paper – whether it’s in the short run or the long haul – is gonna be a gnarly task.
Darius Gray? He’s got a buffet of official visits lined up – he’s being courted by Penn State, LSU (Go Tigers!), Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn. But getting a signature is just the beginning. It’s 2023, right? So, there’s always that transfer portal to keep in mind. The Hokies might be playing a long game here.
