Get ready for a night of thrilling action on DAZN at 4:00 am ET as George Kambosos squares off against Daud Yordan. Boxing fans, rejoice—your favorite sport is back with a bang! George Kambosos, the pride of two nations and a true hero to many, steps into the ring at 140 lbs. Can he dominate this weight class just like he’s won over the hearts of the Hellenic community? We’ll soon find out! Honestly, having Kambosos return is worth every cent of a $100 PPV, but the good news is you’ll get this and an exciting Aussie/Kiwi undercard at no extra cost with your DAZN subscription. Skye Nicolson is set to defend against Tiara “The Dark Menace” Brown, while Cherneka Johnson will take on Nina Hughes. Heavyweight fighter Hemi Ahio, who has become somewhat of a close friend to fans, will stay busy against Aekkaphob Auraiwan, plus Olympic stunner Teremoana Teremoana will face an opponent to be determined. Stay tuned for live updates from BLH, and don’t worry—Scott’s got you covered, not me.
On Fightzone (UK) at 10:00 am ET, we have “Promoters Colliding: Repeat or Revenge.” Unfortunately, details are a bit murky since no one bothered to provide an exact start time. My best guess is that the action kicks off at around 3 pm local time, since the O2 Arena doors open at 2:30. However, none of the fighters have had previous showdowns with their opponents, leaving us in the dark about the “Repeat” or “Revenge” aspect.
Later, DAZN is hosting Overtime Boxing at 6:00 pm ET, traditionally known for its Atlanta-based brawls. This time, we’re shifting to a casino near San Diego for a fresh vibe. Maliek “Mayhem” Montgomery will clash with Jeremy Hill, headlining the event, and Kurt Scoby will show his skills in an eight-round bout.
ProBox is showcasing Lester Martinez vs. Joeshon James at 6:00 pm ET, but this fight seems to be the victim of scheduling chaos. Initially planned for September 11th, 2024, it was bumped to February 8th and now finds its place on Saturday night in San Bernardino, California. Jessie Magdaleno vs. Luis Coria appears on BoxRec, although it’s missing from the promotional materials for the live stream.
Tune in to YouTube/Facebook/etc. at 6:00 pm ET for Dirty Boxing: DBX1. This is a hybrid of boxing and MMA, featuring three-minute rounds with four-ounce gloves where elbow strikes and attacking a downed opponent are fair game. How this “unique rule set” will make its mark remains to be seen, but it’s backed by significant talent. In a soft launch demo last year, Ben Davis and Chris Algieri were at the mic, with Jim Sorensen doing ring announcements. While this weekend’s event might lack their presence due to a clashing ProBox event, the demo show is already live for viewing with its cinematic underground aesthetic. The team behind it—the original creators of ProBox’s stellar experience—includes industry pros like Rich Gaughan and Rick Tugman. Although no Roku channel seems available, you can catch it on a myriad of platforms like YouTube, Kick, Rumble, X, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
Over on DAZN at 7:00 pm ET, Boxing Insider features Vlad Panin vs. Brian Arregui as the top bout, with the undercard featuring six or four-round fights. While it’s not yet showing on DAZN at the time of writing, it’s being actively promoted to air, so expect to see it as the week unfolds.
Then, on Amazon Prime at 8:00 pm ET, Sebastian Fundora will battle Chordale Booker. It seems like the event might be free, though there’s no official confirmation yet, five-and-a-half days out. Oddly enough, it’s missing from Amazon’s listings, and attempts to stream from PBC’s site reroute you to a different bout. Fundora is the proud holder of the WBC and WBO 154 lbs. titles, which he clinched in a bloody showdown against Tim Tszyu last March. Booker, after a first-round defeat by Ammo Williams, has rebounded with six straight wins. Rounding out the night are clashes between Jesus Ramos and Guido Schramm, as well as Elijah Garcia versus Terrell Gausha. Stay tuned to BLH for live updates!
