Canelo Alvarez and William Scull are all set to face off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with an exciting undercard lineup supporting their highly anticipated bout.
Scheduled for May 3, Alvarez (62-2-2) is on a mission to reclaim his title as the undisputed super middleweight champion. He faces off against IBF titleholder William Scull (23-0). On Monday, The Ring revealed the complete card for the event, which you can check out below.
The main event features Canelo Alvarez against William Scull.
Undercard Matchups:
– Jaime Munguia vs. Bruno Surace
– Martin Bakole vs. Efe Ajagba
– Badou Jack vs. Ryan Rozicki
– Marco Verde vs. Michel Polina
– Brayan Leon vs. Aaron Guerrero
Canelo comes into this matchup holding the WBA, WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles. Not long ago, he vacated the IBF title in favor of defending against Edgar Berlanga last September. In a match against Berlanga, Alvarez achieved a clear victory through a unanimous decision to keep his titles intact. Meanwhile, Scull earned his IBF belt by winning over Vladimir Shishkin in October.
The co-main event sees Jaime Munguia aiming for redemption after a shocking upset loss to Bruno Surace last December. Going into that fight, Munguia was viewed as a strong favorite, especially after his previous 12-round clash with Alvarez. However, in a surprising turn of events, Surace landed a decisive right hand in the sixth round, securing a knockout win when Munguia failed to beat the count.
