On the second day of F1 pre-season testing, Red Bull’s morning session hit an unexpected snag. Liam Lawson, piloting the RB21 at the Bahrain International Circuit, faced an early halt after clocking just 28 laps in the hectic morning hours.
As the clock ticked down to 30 minutes before lunch, the team from Milton Keynes signaled an end to their morning stint by setting up the boarding that indicates they were peeling the floor off their car. RacingNews365 learned from Red Bull that the session was cut short due to an issue with the engine’s water pressure.
Adding to the challenges was a brief shower of rain, severely limiting Lawson’s track time. Despite these setbacks, he managed to log the eighth-fastest time before the break.
It’s still uncertain if the water pressure issue will be resolved in time for the afternoon session, which is slated to run from 3 PM to 7 PM local time. Post-session, the Kiwi driver is set to pass the driving duties of the RB21 to Max Verstappen for the entirety of the final day of testing in Bahrain.
