He conveyed a clear understanding of Shedeur’s aspirations, saying, “I know where his heart is, I know where he wants to go.” Whether it’s New York, Tennessee, Cleveland, the Raiders, New Orleans, or any other team on the lookout for a quarterback, Deion expressed his happiness, confidently adding, “I know what he’s going to do to the organization.”
Interestingly, Deion’s current stance slightly deviates from his comments last March on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast. Back then, he firmly declared there were certain cities he wouldn’t consider, metaphorically referencing an “Eli” situation. This referred to the scenario involving Eli Manning, who famously refused to play for the team that initially picked him, the Chargers, leading to a swift trade to the New York Giants—a move that shaped his Hall of Fame career.
When Bayless probed whether Deion would attempt to influence where Shedeur ends up, Deion chuckled and outright denied it. “No, no, no,” he retorted. “That’s not God’s will right now. I want Shedeur to continue proving himself, excelling where others doubt him. The criticism fuels us; it adds another chip on his shoulder.”
