Cooper Flagg is on track to return to action in next week’s NCAA tournament after injuring his ankle on Thursday. The young talent, tipped to be the top pick in the 2025 NBA draft and a frontrunner for the prestigious Wooden Award, is making headlines for more than just his court skills.
Duke has confirmed that Flagg won’t be participating in the remainder of the ACC tournament; however, x-rays have thankfully shown no fractures.
Jon Scheyer provided an update saying, “Cooper’s improving. It’s a sprained ankle, nothing showed up on the imaging, which is a relief. It’s a pretty solid sprain, though. I mean, it’s no secret he won’t be available for the ACC finals. He just can’t play right now. Our aim is to get him back on court for the NCAA tournament. It all depends on how his ankle responds over the weekend and the extent to which the swelling decreases.”
