Conor McGregor’s next move in the fighting world remains a mystery, but he’s not shying away from expressing his desire to step into the Bareknuckle Fighting Championships (BKFC) ring. Despite the uncertainty, McGregor’s determination is palpable.
“The warrior spirit burns strong inside me,” McGregor declared at a BKFC press event in Italy. “If you think I’m just giving speeches here and won’t be stepping into the ring myself, you’re mistaken. I will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship—mark my words.”
Though he still has two bouts remaining under his current UFC contract, the former UFC champion hinted at the possibility of an arrangement that could merge UFC and BKFC, allowing him to compete in both arenas.
“Perhaps an exemption, maybe a joint venture. Bare Knuckle and UFC, similar to what I had with McGregor Sports & Entertainment and Mayweather Promotions,” McGregor suggested last August. “I need to stay active, and I’m working toward that goal. Patience is key, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.”
While considering a transition to BKFC, McGregor also has a lineup of potential opponents that intrigue him. “There are many showcase bouts possible,” he mused. “Michael Perry, Mike Perry, Jeremy Stephens, and even a rematch with Eddie Alvarez,” he listed. “But there’s also the lightweight title to think about—who holds it now? Lightweight or welterweight? We’ll see how it plays out. I’m definitely open to possibilities.”
