Coco Gauff is making waves in the tennis world once again. She’s stepping away from her long-time agency to forge her own path by launching a management firm. Her goal? To “take greater ownership” of her burgeoning tennis career as she evolves “as an athlete, entrepreneur, and changemaker,” according to her recent social media announcement.
Fresh off her triumph at the 2023 U.S. Open in singles and the 2024 French Open in doubles, Gauff shared that her new venture will operate under the name Coco Gauff Enterprises.
“This marks the start of an exhilarating new chapter for me, with plenty more on the horizon that I can’t wait to reveal,” she expressed with excitement. “Still, tennis will remain my top priority!”
At just 21, this Florida-born star has ascended to No. 3 in the WTA singles rankings and No. 25 in doubles, previously peaking at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively. Her impressive achievements have earned her around $23 million in prize money alongside lucrative endorsement deals. In 2024 alone, Sportico reported her as the highest-earning female athlete with a total of $30.4 million.
This strategic business shift involves partnering with WME, an agency renowned for representing athletes like the legendary Serena Williams. This move also means ending her association with Team8, the management powerhouse established by Roger Federer and his agent, Tony Godsick.
Gauff first captured global attention at Wimbledon back in 2019 when, at just 15, she became the tournament’s youngest-ever qualifier. Her captivating performance included a stunning win against Venus Williams and saw her progress to the fourth round in her Grand Slam debut.
Reflecting on her journey, Gauff shared on Wednesday, “From the first moment I grabbed a tennis racket, I’ve always believed my purpose stretched far beyond just playing the game.” She emphasized her desire to create “an impact—not just in tennis, but in business, philanthropy, and beyond.”
