This Thursday night promises an electrifying return of New York City’s only club boxing show, hosted at Sony Hall, where some of the region’s most promising fighters are ready to take the ring. These thrilling bouts will not only captivate the local audience but will also be streaming globally on DAZN. Tickets are available now, so come out and cheer on your local boxing scene!
In the spotlight for the 10-round main event, we have welterweight standout Avious Griffin (16-0, 15 KOs), squaring off against Jose Luis “Guerro” Sanchez (14-4, 4 KOs) for the highly coveted WBC USA Welterweight title. Griffin is rapidly gaining a reputation as a formidable force, having ended all but one of his 16 battles by knockout. He enters the ring carrying an impressive nine-fight KO streak, ready to meet Sanchez’s challenge.
Adding to the excitement is a featured 10-round Heavyweight Special Attraction, bringing “Gentleman” George Arias (18-1-1, 7 KOs) from the Dominican Republic, fighting out of The Bronx, against Helaman Olguin.
Fans will also get to watch two emerging lightweight talents from Brooklyn, each stepping into four-round face-offs on February 20th:
– Koby Khalil Williams (4-0, 3 KOs) versus Nicholas Isaac (5-0, 4 KOs)
– Jason Castanon (1-1, 1 KO) against Stephen Barbee
Promoter Larry Goldberg expressed his enthusiasm, noting the resurgence of boxing in NYC with a wave of major events. “Avious Griffen has been a standout performer during our previous Boxing Insider events, and this time he’s taking on his toughest challenge with the WBC US Title on the line. Additionally, we have a dynamic Heavyweight match and I’m thrilled to feature 4-0 Koby Williams against 5-0 Nicholas Isaac,” he said.
