Clemson Tigers had a standout recruiting weekend that Coach Dabo Swinney and his team should definitely celebrate. The energy and effectiveness of their approach during what they called the “Elite Retreat” clearly paid off.
A notable outcome of this weekend was securing commitments from six recruits. Among them is Marcell Gipson, a three-star cornerback from Dallas, Texas, recognized as the 67th-ranked cornerback for the class of 2026.
Although Gipson’s commitment was exciting, he wasn’t the only one who saw something special in Clemson over those days.
The Tigers were truly on a roll this weekend. A standout addition was Naeem Burroughs, a four-star wide receiver hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. According to the 247Sports Composite, he is considered the 8th best wide receiver for 2026. Joining the list of new recruits was Connor Salmin, another four-star receiver from Potomac, Maryland.
Turning to offense, the Tigers made significant progress with commitments from three promising offensive linemen: Adam Guthrie, Grant Wise, and Chancellor Barclay. Barclay, in particular, brings prestige as he’s ranked as the 11th top interior offensive lineman nationwide.
While this is just the beginning, Dabo Swinney’s effort in crafting the 2026 class has already placed Clemson in third place nationally. Clearly, Dabo’s strategy is working wonders, and the future looks bright for the Tigers.
