Okay, so there’s a whole circus rolling into Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Saturday night, and while the main event—Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr.—has enough drama to fill a soap opera, it’s kinda the side show, if you ask me. What’s really got me buzzing is the opening act starring Chris Billam-Smith, aka CBS (not the network, but could he be any cooler?). He’s squaring off against Brandon “Bullet Proof” Glanton. Now this is where it gets interesting.
So, CBS isn’t the type to run his mouth. He’s probably the last guy you’d expect to verbally spar in a press conference. Real classic guy, think Marvin Hagler-style, preferring his fists to do all the yapping. On the flip side, Glanton apparently missed the memo about keeping it cool. He’s been shooting off at the mouth leading up to this event like he’s on a caffeine high, saying things like he’ll dish out “brain damage” to CBS and even calling him a, well, let’s just say a less-than-glamorous father. Whoa there, cowboy.
Why Glanton’s so heated? No clue. Seriously, they don’t even know each other, and here we are with all this animosity bubbling over from two dudes an ocean apart. It’s like he woke up one morning and decided, “Today, I don’t like this guy.” Go figure.
But oh man, this undercard fight has my attention, like, laser-focused. There’s just something magnetic about these two 200-pound gladiators squaring off. Am I the only one finding the energy of this undercard more intriguing than the big ticket bout? Ack, maybe I’m nuts, but it’s got that ‘can’t look away’ vibe.
The gloves will fly, and it’s bound to be a slugfest—a real barnburner. Not gonna lie, picking a winner here is like flipping a coin in a hurricane. Fully conflicted. If you’re going by who’s the better man, dignity-wise, CBS’s the hero. But does nice guys finishing last apply here?
Anyway, if I gotta make a call, it’s Glanton edging it out on points. But expect both dudes to be put through the wringer. And yeah, if CBS can make Glanton eat his words? Talk about sweet revenge. But let’s see how it pans out. You really never know until that final bell rings.
