The Dallas Mavericks are facing a tough road ahead as Anthony Davis might have to sit out the rest of the 2024-2025 season. Their playoff dreams took a hit when Kyrie Irving suffered a season-ending ACL injury. Currently holding the 10th spot in the Western Conference, the Mavericks have a slim lead, with just three fewer losses than the Phoenix Suns, for the final play-in position. Unfortunately, Davis strained his adductor during his debut game as a Maverick.
Shams Charania shared some insight on The Pat McAfee Show, saying, “I think he and his representatives will need to have some serious discussions. It’s quite possible that one game will be the only time we see Anthony Davis play this season.”
Before this setback, Davis was on an impressive streak, delivering performances worthy of All-NBA recognition. He averaged 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game, maintaining these stats across 42 games and clocking an average of 34.2 minutes each game.
