Alpine has just revealed an exciting addition to their lineup of test and reserve drivers for the 2025 F1 season: Formula 2 racer Kush Maini. As a member of the Alpine Academy, Maini is gearing up to compete with DAMS in this year’s F2 series while also taking on Testing of Previous Cars (TPCs) for Alpine at Enstone.
At 24, this talented Indian driver is the fourth reserve member Alpine has announced for the upcoming season, which officially starts with the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. Maini will be joining a formidable group that includes Franco Colapinto, Paul Aron, and Ryo Hirakawa, all ready to step in should Jack Doohan or Pierre Gasly be unavailable.
“I’m thrilled to take on the role of Test and Reserve Driver for BWT Alpine Formula One Team this season,” Maini shared. “Since joining the Alpine Academy last year, I’ve felt incredibly embraced by the entire Alpine family, and I’m grateful to Flavio and Oliver for their ongoing support.”
He continued, “I’m eager to get more experience behind the wheel of Formula One cars in this capacity and to continue building on what I’ve learned with the team in 2024. But for now, my sights are set on kicking off my third Formula 2 season, starting this weekend in Australia.”
