Daryl Morey, the Philadelphia 76ers’ President of Basketball Operations, has just made it official: David Roddy is now part of the team under a two-way contract. Roddy first linked up with the 76ers with a 10-day deal on February 11 and quickly got on the court for a matchup against Boston, where he made his mark with four points and snagged five rebounds in just 13 minutes of playing time.
This season, Roddy has been putting in the work. He played in 28 games, starting three of them for Atlanta and Philadelphia, and racked up averages of 4.5 points on a respectable 46.0% shooting, along with 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists. One standout moment for him was on October 30, when he dropped a season-high 17 points against Washington, one of his five double-digit scoring games this year.
Throughout his NBA journey, spanning three seasons, Roddy has seen action in 163 games and started 20 of them across teams like Memphis, Phoenix, Atlanta, and now Philadelphia. Over this time, he’s maintained career averages of 6.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Interestingly, Roddy’s NBA story began when he was picked 23rd overall in the 2022 draft by Philadelphia, though his rights were initially snapped up by Memphis.
