Across the globe, motorsport enthusiasts prepare for an electrifying comeback with the FIA World and European Rallycross Championships gearing up for 2025. The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has exciting news—they’re taking the reins of these series, ensuring rallycross enthusiasts are treated to top-notch action.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem announced a strategic move following three months of market testing: the FIA is directly investing in these championships. His vision is clear—boost participation in motorsport and enrich the rallycross legacy.
With a trusted service provider, the FIA will handle every aspect of the championships. They’re busy finalizing the 2025 calendar, poised to be unveiled by March 14, pending the World Motor Sport Council’s green light. Expect a lineup featuring seven World Rallycross events and six for the European series.
This forward-thinking model promises growth for drivers, teams, event organizers, and sponsors alike. It aims not only to elevate the fan experience but also to deliver value for FIA Member Clubs, promising a strong foundation for the rallies’ triumphant success.
Each year, the World and European Rallycross events draw over 30 million engaged viewers from more than 100 countries. With such a passionate audience, the potential for expansion is immense, both in traditional motorsport regions and emerging markets.
Kicking off this new era, FIA prioritizes free-to-air broadcasts and improved digital access. This strategy seeks to captivate new fans and boost commercial partnership value through wider reach and greater engagement.
Adding to the momentum, Volvo Construction Equipment and Hoosier Racing Tire Europe have pledged their continued support, serving as the Official Track Building Partner and Official Tire Supplier, respectively.
Looking ahead, the ‘Battle of Technologies’ concept continues to enthrall fans, pitting traditional combustion-engine vehicles against electric ones. This dynamic rivalry underscores the diversity in modern automotive ventures.
The FIA’s investment extends beyond rallies, aiming to nurture off-road motorsport’s growth path. Collaborating with National Sporting Authorities, the initiative will start from grassroots cross-car events, paving a clear journey from local to global rallycross stardom.
FIA President Ben Sulayem shared his commitment, stating, “We are investing in Rallycross and the future of motorsport. Our aim is to amplify global interest and provide an enriched competitive experience for drivers, teams, and our dedicated fans.”
Emilia Abel, FIA Junior Road Sport Director, expressed optimism, “The championship is primed for global expansion, and the FIA’s leadership heralds a promising future. We’re excited to be part of this rallycross revolution.”
On the business side, Bill Law from Volvo Construction Equipment emphasized, “Our partnership with the FIA elevates the rallycross stage, highlighting sustainable industry shifts while thrilling fans worldwide.”
Echoing this, Martin Heckers from Hoosier Racing Tire Europe added, “We anticipate thrilling races, and our collaboration perfectly aligns with showcasing our brand and tire expertise. It’s about passion and performance, shared with a vibrant fan community.”
Four wheels, revving engines, and zealous fans—the world of rallycross is ready to soar to new heights under the FIA’s stewardship.
