Training on the West Coast during the offseason, Aaron Rodgers is clear about what he wants as he eyes a potential 21st season in the NFL. Chatting with TMZ Sports, Rodgers emphasized that the primary factor he’s considering is interest from teams that actually want him on their roster.
His recent stint with the Jets ended in a heartfelt face-to-face discussion where the team made it clear that they were ready to part ways. Reflecting on his time with the Jets, Rodgers noted that while he had some strong players around him, issues like an inconsistent offensive line held the team back from reaching their full potential in 2024.
When the conversation shifted to where he might play next, Rodgers joked about the benefits of sunny weather after spending the previous year in New Jersey. Speculation has linked him to a couple of West Coast teams, with the Los Angeles Rams being one possible destination. They may be looking to switch things up if they decide to move on from Matthew Stafford. The Las Vegas Raiders have also been mentioned in the mix.
Currently, betting odds describe it as a neck-and-neck race among the Rams, Raiders, and even the Pittsburgh Steelers, each vying for a chance to sign the future Hall of Famer. The Rams seem particularly attractive, having one of the NFL’s best offensive lines last season along with standout receiver Puka Nacua, despite their potential plans to trade Cooper Kupp.
If, however, the Rams stick with Stafford, the Steelers emerge as another viable option with their own aspirations of winning. Interestingly, Pittsburgh safety DeShon Elliott had previously joked on Instagram that Rodgers should retire, yet a recent photograph surfaced of the two training together, suggesting any past tensions might be behind them.
To add to the intrigue, George Pickens, a star receiver for the Steelers, once expressed in a viral video his desire to play alongside Rodgers, further fueling speculation about what the future holds for the veteran quarterback.
