Draymond Green, the dynamic forward for the Golden State Warriors, isn’t shy when it comes to making bold statements about the future of his team. During TNT’s All-Star Game coverage, he confidently announced that the Warriors will be taking home the NBA Championship in 2025.
“We’re going to win the championship,” Green declared to TNT hosts Adam Lefkoe, Jalen Rose, and Vince Carter just before the Sunday night festivities kicked off.
Lefkoe, wanting to make sure everyone caught that bold assertion, said, “Say that one more time so that everybody can hear.”
With a flair for the dramatic, Green obliged. “I’m sorry,” he started, pausing for effect. “I said I think we’re gonna win a championship. But I lied. We are going to win the championship. That’s what’s going to happen,” he insisted.
Since acquiring Jimmy Butler in a strategic move at the trade deadline, the Warriors have gone 3-1. As they hit the All-Star break, the team stands at 28-27, sharing the ninth spot in the fiercely competitive Western Conference.
