During the All-Star break, Luka Doncic took some time off from basketball as he pondered his recent move from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. Although Doncic has been an All-Star in every season since joining the league, this year marked a rare exception, the only other being his rookie year.
“I needed a bit of a break from basketball, to be honest,” Doncic shared on Wednesday. “But I’m really eager to get back on the court now. Being sidelined for such a long time was a new experience for me, and I definitely felt the absence. I’m thrilled to be back in action.”
Doncic was absent from Thursday’s game as he focused on managing his calf injury. Meanwhile, the Lakers faced a home defeat against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Since his transition to the Lakers, Doncic has been averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 26.7 minutes per game.
