So, you know about this Carlos Alcaraz guy, right? Yeah, the tennis dude who’s trying to become, like, the greatest in history. Anyway, there’s this new Netflix series coming out about him, “Carlos Alcaraz: My Way,” drops on April 23rd. And yeah, I’ve been thinking – what’s with everyone wanting documentaries these days? But I get it, kinda. I’m curious too.
Apparently, the series is gonna unpack his life, career, and the whole entourage behind him. Like, imagine a three-part plunge into this young guy’s world. They say you’ll get to see his 2024 season – which by the way, was, reportedly, lit. Imagine celebrating victories from Wimbledon to the US Open and then, boom, back home to sleep in your childhood twin bed. What a mood, right?
In one scene, 21-year-old Alcaraz was just chatting about his family. The dude still lives at home when he’s not globetrotting for matches – trophies chilling in a tiny room. Love that for him. He mentions wanting more chill time with family and friends. But, like, tennis doesn’t really roll with that vibe, it seems. “Tennis equals life takeover,” is probably what he’d say. Just a hunch.
The docu’s packed with old-timers like Federer, Nadal, and even that dude who coaches him, Juan Carlos Ferrero. They yak about sacrifices and all that jazz. Nadal’s like, “Yeah, it better be worth it,” and I’m here thinking – easier said than done, Rafi.
A bit of a deep thought: Alcaraz talks about this fear of seeing tennis as a grind, like an “obligation.” Honestly, I’d feel the same – endless travel and training, ugh. He says he’s all about making his own choices though, even if he screws things up, it’s on him. Can’t help but nod along – we all want a say in our own narrative, right? It’s tempting to root for him on this journey of being the GOAT – “Greatest Of All Time,” for the uninitiated.
But anyway – Netflix, April 23, it’s when you can peek into Alcaraz’s world. Kinda exciting, isn’t it?
