PGA of America professional Jimmy Wisinski has made waves in the golfing world by achieving the esteemed PGA Master Professional designation, secures his place among a remarkable group of professionals. Based at the Kent Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Wisinski’s new status represents the pinnacle of educational success within the PGA of America.
Wisinski, a proud member of the Michigan Section PGA, becomes the 453rd individual to be honored with this title, specifically recognized for his expertise in teaching and coaching. “For me, there’s nothing better than helping golfers refine their skills. My curiosity about the intricacies of teaching grows endlessly,” Wisinski commented from the PGA headquarters in Frisco, Texas. “Being acknowledged as a PGA Master Professional truly feels extraordinary.”
Initiated in 1969, the PGA Master Professional program is designed to acknowledge members who strive for excellence and consistently elevate their standard of practice. It arms professionals with the capabilities needed to meet the ever-evolving demands of golf management, operational leadership, and coaching.
Open to members with a decade or more of PGA affiliation, the program requires participants to complete a rigorous project tied to their prior specializations, culminating in a presentation that marks the final step towards this prestigious title.
Wisinski’s journey in golf began at a tender age, shaped by his family’s Tee-2-Green Golf Shop in Grand Rapids, where he was introduced to the world of golf gear by age eight. A former athlete, Wisinski competed for the University of Michigan’s golf team, graduating in 2006 with a degree in sports management and communication.
Following his college years, he enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program, gathering experience at various local clubs before steering the family business and eventually moving to Stonewater Country Club in a senior role. At Kent Country Club since 2017 and now Director of Instruction, Wisinski’s accolades include Michigan Section PGA awards for Teacher & Coach of the Year and Professional Development in 2025, among other honors.
His over 20 years in golf instruction have been marked by a commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology like TrackMan and Sportsbox AI 3D in his coaching techniques to enrich the learning process. Wisinski is also certified by prominent bodies like the Titleist Performance Institute.
Living in Grand Rapids, Wisinski shares his life with his wife Jolene and their two children.
