Bill Belichick’s personal life has been a hot topic, providing plenty of fodder for comedians and commentators alike.
Notable figures like Tom Brady, Snoop Dogg, and even Saturday Night Live have poked fun at the 72-year-old legendary head coach over his relationship with the much younger Jordon Hudson, who is just 24. Her involvement in his professional world has only fueled more chatter.
Recently, Matt Hartman from The Assembly shared an intriguing piece of gossip—a supposed email snapshot from Belichick to Robbi Pickeral Evans, a Senior Associate Athletic Director at UNC. In it, Belichick included Hudson in the CC line and asked that she be kept updated on their communications.
This email, dated December 16, appeared soon after an unexpected hire by North Carolina was announced. “I am including Jordon on this email so she can keep up with our postings,” Belichick explained. “Can you include her on anything you send to me? Thanks.”
Hartman’s tweet only added to the swirling rumors about Hudson’s influence over Belichick’s professional life. Just last month, Pablo Torre suggested that Hudson is serving as Belichick’s unofficial agent and manager, or “momager,” as he put it.
Torre also mentioned that Hudson leveraged her position to land a spot in a Dunkin’ commercial that premiered during Super Bowl 59.
In an insightful episode of “Pablo Torre Finds Out,” Torre elaborated on Hudson’s increasing power. “[Hudson is] the gatekeeper for booking Bill Belichick for high-profile gigs, whether that’s a Super Bowl ad or any of his multifaceted endeavors,” Torre explained. “Accurate sources tell me that she successfully used her clout to appear in the commercial herself.”
Meanwhile, earlier in the month, plans for HBO’s “Hard Knocks” to spotlight Belichick’s Tar Heels were abruptly shelved. On “The Sports Gossip” podcast, Charlotte Wilder shared whispers that Hudson’s insistence on creative control might have been the dealbreaker. Yet, no one at UNC confirmed these claims.
In a world as intertwined as the sports business, it seems Hudson is playing a much more pivotal role in Belichick’s affairs than many initially thought.
