Just a couple of days ago, the Houston Rockets made a noteworthy move by signing David Roddy, a free agent forward, to a two-way contract.
Roddy, who stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 255 pounds, was initially selected as the 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. However, his rights were promptly traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. During his rookie stint with the Grizzlies, he shared the court with Steven Adams and Dillon Brooks, both of whom now play for the Rockets.
Throughout his career spanning 165 games, in which he started 20, Roddy has consistently delivered, averaging 13.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per 36 minutes. This season alone, the 23-year-old hit the court across 30 games for both Atlanta and Philadelphia.
A standout moment in Roddy’s journey came during his junior year at Colorado State. He clinched the title of Mountain West Conference Player of the Year in the 2021-22 season. Beyond college, he was also celebrated as Minnesota’s Male High School Athlete of the Year in 2019, thanks to his outstanding performances in basketball, football, and track and field.
