Jaelen Waters has experienced quite the journey with his college football commitments, starting with pledges to Florida and Florida State. Now, he’s turned his attention to a third Florida school — Miami. There’s something about the Hurricanes under Mario Cristobal that seems to resonate with the four-star cornerback from Seffner, Florida.
Waters recently made the trip to Coral Gables for an unofficial visit, getting an up-close look at a Hurricanes practice. That visit made a significant impression, leading him to commit to Miami.
During an interview with InsideTheU, Waters shared his thoughts: “The practice was impressive. Watching [secondary coach] Will Harris in action left me feeling very confident. Seeing both him and [cornerback coach Zac Etheridge] at work was illuminating, and I felt great about how I’d fit into their system.”
It’s interesting to note that Harris, who was once the secondary coach at Florida, shares a strong connection with Waters — a key factor in his decision. Acknowledging the impact of this relationship, Harris took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after Waters announced his commitment.
