The Toronto Raptors have made a notable adjustment to their lineup by granting Orlando Robinson a standard NBA contract. This move signifies the team’s confidence in Robinson’s abilities and potential contribution to the squad.
In a related development, the Raptors have also brought Jared Rhoden on board with a two-way contract. Standing at 6-foot-10 and weighing 235 pounds, Robinson has shared his skills between the Raptors and the Sacramento Kings this season. Over the course of 26 games, he has averaged 4.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and has spent roughly 12.5 minutes on the court per game. Notably, Robinson initially joined the Raptors through two 10-day contracts earlier this year before securing the two-way deal on February 7. Hailing from Las Vegas, Robinson embarked on his professional journey as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Heat in July 2022, after showcasing his talents for three seasons at Fresno State.
Jared Rhoden, who is 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, has seen action in five games this season while juggling stints with Toronto and Charlotte. Rhoden’s initial connection with the Raptors this year came in the form of a 10-day contract on February 19. His presence in the NBA G League has been impressive; between the Greensboro Swarm and Raptors 905, Rhoden has participated in 24 games, including both the Tip-Off Tournament and the regular season, posting an average of 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 30.3 minutes. His shooting performance has been solid, boasting a field goal percentage of .494 and a three-point accuracy of .366. Remarkably, Rhoden has hit double figures in scoring in 21 matchups, surpassing the 20-point mark in 11 of them.
A product of Baldwin, New York, Rhoden has demonstrated his abilities further in 36 NBA games with Detroit, Charlotte, and Toronto, averaging 3.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 12.7 minutes. Before making his mark in the NBA, Rhoden developed his game over four collegiate seasons at Seton Hall, earning a spot on the All-Big East First Team during his senior year.
With these recent roster moves, the Raptors are now carrying 17 players, strategically positioning themselves for the challenges ahead.
